Season 7 Round 2

Welcome to the second round of the European GT Masters. This time we are heading to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza which is located in Monza, Italy. The track has a length of 5,793km and contains 11 turns.

This track is a historic race track which is built in a woodland setting in the Royal Villa of Monza Park. Built in 1922, it is the world’s third purpose-built motor racing circuit after those of Brooklands and Indianapolis.

Round 2 will be driven with Gr.1 cars (Porsche 919 & Audi R18) which are also known as LMP cars. A Le Mans Prototype (LMP) is the type of sports prototype race car used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series.
While not as fast as open-wheel Formula One cars, LMPs are the fastest closed-wheel racing cars used in circuit racing. Modern LMP designs include hybrid cars that use electric motors to assist acceleration, thats why we selected the Porsche 919 (’19) and the Audi R18 (’16).
