Audi (GT3 LMS and GT4 TT Cup)
is a German automobile manufacturer that designs, engineers, produces, markets and distributes vehicles. Audi is a member of the Volkswagen Group and has its roots at Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Audi-branded vehicles are produced in nine production facilities worldwide.
The origins of the company are complex, going back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch; and two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer), leading to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern era of Audi essentially began in the 1960s when Auto Union was acquired by Volkswagen from Daimler-Benz. After relaunching the Audi brand with the 1965 introduction of the Audi F103 series, Volkswagen merged Auto Union with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969, thus creating the present day form of the company.
The company name is based on the Latin translation of the surname of the founder, August Horch. “Horch”, meaning “listen” in German, becomes “audi” in Latin. The four rings of the Audi logo each represent one of four car companies that banded together to create Audi’s predecessor company, Auto Union. Audi’s slogan is Vorsprung durch Technik, meaning “Being Ahead through Technology”. However, Audi USA had used the slogan “Truth in Engineering” from 2007 to 2016, and have not used the slogan since 2016.

At the 2010 24 Hours of Spa, BMW qualified 1st in class (2nd overall) and maintained 1st with the No. 79 car throughout the race until it succumbed to a suspension failure with just half an hour remaining, forcing them to give the overall lead to two Porsche 997 GT3-RSRs. The M3s still came 1st in the GTN class. The BMW M3s won the GT2 category in the ILMC 1000 km of Zhuhai. In 2011, the BMW achieved a 1-2 finish in the 12 Hours of Sebring. In June 2014, McLaren announced that they would produce a GT3 version of the 650S, either as a new car or as an upgrade for the existing 12C GT3 – which will contest GT3 championships from 2015 onwards.
Changes to the car from the road car includes a new 6-speed sequential motorsport gearbox; 380 mm ventilated brake discs with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston units at the rear; a 52 mm wider track; revised suspension geometry and upgraded components. It is distinguished from the road car by larger air intakes and front splitter, and carbon fibre air intakes and a new rear wing.
The 3.8-litre McLaren V8 twin-turbo engine, also used in the 12C-GT3, produces 493 bhp (368 kW; 500 PS), and includes a new ECU to improve turbo boost and gearshifts. The power output is lower than the road going 650S’s due to homologation.
Andrew Kirkaldy, whose CRS Racing team developed the GT3 version of the McLaren MP4-12C, said that they were aiming to develop a version that conforms to the LM GTE regulations at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the plan never worked and didn’t appear at the endurance race event.
The 650S achieved its biggest success when it won the 2016 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race in Australia at the hands of Álvaro Parente, Shane van Gisbergen and Jonathon Webb. Van Gisbergen set a new outright lap record with a time of 2:01.567 on 7 February 2016.

The Mercedes AMG GT3 is based on the AMG GT. The GT uses a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, with the engine positioned inside of the vehicle’s wheelbase. The spaceframe chassis and body are made out of aluminium alloys, while the boot lid is steel and the bonnet is made of magnesium. The suspension system is a double wishbone unit at the front and rear, with forged aluminium wishbones and hub carriers.
The car is powered by a front-mid mounted M156 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The engine is in “hot inside V” configuration—with exhaust manifolds and turbochargers inside the cylinder banks to reduce turbo lag—and uses dry-sump lubrication. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT.
The AMG GT3 Engine has a bit more power than the normal GT road car. The Gt3 version has the M1596,208 cc (378.8 cu in) naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine and generates 631 PS (464 kW; 622 bhp) at 7,400 and 635 N·m (468 lb·ft) at 5,000.

The power for the Nismo GT3 comes from the same 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 (VR38DETT) fitted to the road car, but output is slightly increased over the production model’s 404kW and 628Nm to 405kW at 6500rpm and 637Nm of torque at 5000rpm The Nismo GT-R GT3’s ultra-aggressive stance and styling is compounded by its massive size, measuring 4780mm long and 2036mm wide and also bevy of upgrades based on data gathered after competing in several 2012 titles (Super GT series, British GT Championship, GT Cup).
